mrinx says...Fushigi Yugi was made by the same person who made Ayashi no Ceres, so the styles of animation and character development are similar. ^_^ It's pretty good too. If you liked AnC, try out FY.
kamirura says...If you liked Ayashi No Cers, then you should defenitly watch Fushig Yuugi. Made by the same creator as Ayashi no Ceres, Watase Yu. Fushigi yuugi got more magic and is less serious and dark than Ayashi, though this anime really got special toutch to it. Fushigi yuugi was the first anime I ever cried to. Bot of happiness and anger. If you're a big fan of Ayashi No Ceres you should really check this one out. It's truly a piece of art.
miaka says...if you enjoyed the Ayashi No Ceres serie you are gonna love Fushigi Y没gi. the both series is about a girl that meet many new friends and the love of her life, while she/they are fighting against people who whant her/them dead.
sothis says...Every facet of the overused, extremely cheesy at times love story is prevalent in both of these series. Fushigi Yuugi is admittedly more focused on comedy and fantasy.. while Ayashi no Ceres is much darker, more violent, and deeper with the plot. Regardless, both have an annoying main character who is always screaming the guy's name, somewhat unbelievable love triangles, and tons of estrogen. If you like one, you will like aspects of the other. I prefer Ayashi no Ceres, but you might be different.
VRDave says...I haven't watched ALL of Fushigi Yuugi (mostly because it was too sappy and girly), but I've watched enough to draw a strange similarity between Ayashi no Ceres and FY. There are frantic love triangles and weird 'not-of-this-world' type powers and whatnot, and each episode ends the same way on some sort of a cliffhanger with the ED music fading in.
NekoRocket says...Tragic and beautiful, Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres are both wonderful stories that pull you in and keep you watching until the end. The stories of love and rivalry have similar points, but each one is different enough from the other to keep you from ever getting the feeling that 'you've seen this before.' Watch and enjoy :)
Pug says...What connects this two series (apart from the author ;) ) is the way of showing realtionship between the main characters. It's highly emotional and strong. They have to fight a lot to be together.Fushigi Yuugi is much more funny and bright, Ayashi no Ceres is rather dark and more complicated but both of the series are worth watching.
Tyrinari says...You just about have to be girly to enjoy the work of Yuu Watase. If you like one, you will like the other. Both are full of romance, really hot guys, and some pretty good action.
Myeerah says...Both Fushigi Yugi and Ayashi no Ceres are romantic stories involving magic and mystery, and have elements of comedy. The heroines of both series are girls who, although independent and strong, still desire and depend on a strong man.
wolfangel87 says...Both of the series are created by Yuu Watase and have the same kind of animation. There is a supernatural side to both of the stories and the main heroines have to put themselves through a test of life to decide what is best for everyone. The main heroines, Aya (Ayashi no Ceres) and Miaka (Fushigi Yugi) have decisions to make affecting the outcome of the people that they love. Each series is also a reverse harem.
lovepink says...Both Ayashi No Ceres and Fushigi Yugi, created by mangaka Yuu Watase, will make you fall into their magical universes where both love and hatred entangles.
Nomadichu says...anyone who has seen either anime will love the other, not only where these created by the same person but both anime are tales about normal girls who find out that they are not so normal, about fighting for the people they love, discovering love, and themselves. i would highly suggest either of these animes.
chamomille says...Both anime are about love and sadness from separation from the most precious person. At the same time both anime contain, action, fights, predestination and magic. They are both dramatic and well developed. Although Ayashi is much more bloody and not so funny as Fushigi Yugi.
AngelMason says...Both of these series have a similar artistic feel to them and also incorporate themes of mystery surounding the love interest. The most common theme in these series is the young girl beginning very selfish and imature and later becoming more confident in themselves and more mature.
forgivethehated says...This anime is by the same writer and the writer did an excellent job on both animes! I'd recommend both animes to almost anyone.
mahpara says...Ayashi no Ceres is a very similar anime compared to Fushigi Yugi, not just because of the fact that they both are the work of the same author, but also because they both include romance, fantasy, and sadness. Veiwers feel strong emotions as they do while watching Fushigi Yugi. Also, the ED song fades into the climax of each episode, giving a gut feeling that both of these animes are similar. A person who enjoys Fushigi Yugi would definitely also enjoy Ayashi no Ceres and vice versa.
LovelyOne says...Both of these anime are incredibly similar in animation style and both tell the story of an important time in a young, innocent girls life. Miaka is sent to another world while Aya's world as she knows it is turned upside down. Both make love connections and struggle to make them work amongst the turmoil around them. I watched both of these and though they look similar, the stories are actually very different. The first episodes of both series' are very compelling.
bebe4styll says...Well, they are both made by the same author. But that doesn't count. What it does count is the fact that both of them will take you along their journey and will captivate you in their story. They both succeed in making the viewer feel the emotions flowing into him as the characters experience love, betrayal, hate and as they have to fight, and have to arm themselves with courage in order to win. Magic and fantasy are both present in them and give the animes warmer surroundings. You will find that there are many scenes that will shake your ground due to the amazingly detailed flow of emotions. So, if you liked one, you'll definitely like the other!
Yvienne says...I recommend Fushigi Yuugi is because this anime has a lot of related things to Ayashi No Ceres for example is you really liked the drawings of Ayashi No Ceres you might find Fushigi Yuugi' characters that look a lot like characters in Ayashi No Ceres. And if you are a fan of Watase Yuu anime/manga you will surely love this anime since it is also another wonderful creation by Watase Yuu. There is alot more things in common you will notice when you watch Fushigi yuugi.
sm3xyang3l says...Both animes are made by the same person and involve romance. In the two animes, there are scenes that will make you excited or sometimes maybe even cry. If you like one of them try out the other since they are both very incredible and awesome!
pelagicgirl says...From the improbably strong romatic relationship between the main characters, to the courageous female lead, to the animation, there are many similarities between these animes. Both provide many painfully sad and happy moments and you can't help but root for the characters. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other.
BlancaXLobo says...The if you gonna like one, you'll like the other can't accurate anyone. Despite the flaws, i enjoyed Fushigi Yugi, while Ayashi no Ceres despite being by the same author, Yuu Watase, it wasn't so enjoyable. But if you like old school shojo with melodrama, bishonen and supernatural menaces, you're gonna like both. Especially the melodrama and the bishonen.
X TV
- TV(24 eps)
- 2001 - 2002
Kamui has returned to Tokyo with a traumatizing past, but he is not the only one. Many people are returning to Tokyo for the same reason: they play a part in the End of the World. The Dragons of Earth and the Dragons of Heaven now must fight for the destruction or safety of the world. But is this troubled Kamui really the key to saving the world?
Reasons you might like X TV...
mrinx says...X has wonderful animation and music, and the story is to die for. It's about as heart-wrenching as Ceres as well. If you liked AnC, you would probably like X TV also! ^_^
kamirura says...if you liked Ayashi No Ceres you should go look at X TV. They got the same kind of dark and depressing theme, but X is even more dark. The art in X TV is just as crisp and nice as it is in Ayashi No ceres. X TV is truly one of my faves after Ayashi No Ceres. You better check it out.
sothis says...X TV and Ayashi no Ceres both have a remarkably similar feel to them, though X TV is much, much less estrogen-filled and sappy. Both have a huge emphasis on tragedy, saving the ones you love, and reincarnations of good and evil. If you like love stories, you will probably like Ayashi no Ceres a bit more... and people who like really dark, gripping series will probably like X TV more. In general, both do have an underlying dark, evil, violent element to them.
sublime says...Similar art/animation style, plot and mood are something X Tv and Ayashi no Ceres share. X tv being the darker of the two, whereas Ayashi possibly concentrating more on romance (although it runs on in some vein in X Tv as well) both are incredibly compelling watches.
nextolast says...The animation style (old school... not glossy, kinda crappy color) and character feel (moody to pissy) is strangely similar... and not so strangely annoying, but still these are both pretty good to watch, coming of course from the powers of the main characters. However, unless things change dramatically into the series, you are not likely to see the romantic aspect of aya in x... but in exchange you get ceres, who (when she appears at least) is probably better than kamui (almost equally moody thoug)
Kastrophee says...Both of them concentrate on saving and protecting loved ones and as well as reincarnations (as some have already said). Ayashi no Ceres is more of a romance and X has more of a darker side, though they both tend to have a shockingly violent feel and have a very dramatic story, which isn't too common in shoujo. It's safe to say someone who likes one will like the other.
iloveanime777 says...Both series focus on the idea of destiny/fate and the desire to protect the ones you love. However, Ayashi no Ceres has more romance than X TV. This shouldn't discourage those who aren't into romance anime because the storylines in both are so well executed that their themes/focus on destiny/fate will definitely keep you interested throughout the series! So if you like the theme of destiny, action, a little or a lot of romance, and a great storyline then you'll definitely like both of these series!
chamomille says...Both anime are about predestination, sadness from separation from the most precious persons. At the same time both anime contain action, fights, friendship. They are both very dramatic and well developed. They are both very well animated and I think that X TV sometimes even creates artistic impression.
CuthienSilmeriel says...Both X TV and Ayashi no ceres deal with young people being born into a set fate and posessing powers because of this fate. While X TV has a darker feel neither anime shy away from death and both have a good mix of sorrow and love. Both anime deal with the protagonist's (Kamui in X TV and Aya in Ayashi) emotions as they come to terms with the sudden drastic changes in their life and learn to cope with their new powers and a fate that doesn't seem quite fair. Different plots but very similar.
4EverDreamer says...Both dark and tragic, these stories bring similar emotions. Action and intense human relations make up the story, displaying both the love and beauty of life, while showing how short and sad friendships and loves can be. However, these are what makes it worth living in the first place.
Angel Sanctuary
- OVA(3 eps)
- 2000
Setsuno Muda is a high school boy with a cruel fate, trapped in a forbidden love for his blood sister and inhabited by the spirit of the Organic Angel Alexiel. As the final battle between Heaven and Hell approaches, and forces gather against him, he must soon make decisions that will inevitably alter his future for better or worse. But for poor young Setsuno, his anguish and torment might be more overwhelming than the blood on his hands, as conflicts are settled and lives are changed forever...
Reasons you might like Angel Sanctuary...
kamirura says...I just loved the art in Ayashi No Ceres and one day I stumbled over Angel Sanctuary which got the same lovely animation. And also the same serious love story. I would call those two series twins. But they aren't made by the same people at all. Though the story of Angel Sanctuary really reminds us of Ayashi No Ceres. You better watch this if you enjoyed watching Ayashi no ceres.
Dreistul says...Similar storyline (main character finds out they are an angel, sent back to do something) and similar mood and tone.
sothis says...It's difficult to explain why I think these two series are similar. Both are very tragic, dark, and violent. In addition, both are centered around love. If you were angry at the short length of Angel Sanctuary, you'll surely like the longer length of Ayashi no Ceres, or vice versa if you dislike long series. Both also have somewhat of an incestual quality to them, but tastefully done.
aldat says...I'm not really sure if I should recommend these two series together as I, to be honest, loved Ceres but didn't much care for Angel Sanctuary. Still they are similar in many ways and my dislike might only be because of the stronger incest theme of Angel Sanctuary. The animation of these animes resembles each other, also the setting of mystery, magic and love in the ordinary today's Japan. Both animes are greatly stories of fighting against one's destiny.
NekoRocket says...Fate has cruel intentions on the lives of the characters in Angel Sanctuary and Ayashi no Ceres. If you enjoy tragic stories with beautiful visuals, both of these anime were made for you. See how star-crossed lovers cope with the obstacles set before them and be ready to cry :'(
chamomille says...Ayashi No Ceres Aya
What is similar about both series is the idea of incest love (although Ayashi no ceres has its carmical explanation of it), and the idea of supernatural being co-existing inside the main characters. Both series deal with the power of love (=the power to overcome all difficulties) and friendship. Ayashi contains very bloody scenes, but Angel Sanctuary sometimes doesn't avoid them either. I think I you liked one, you would surely like the other.
CuthienSilmeriel says...Well to start of obviously the theme of angels is present in both these anime. Both Aya in Ayahsi and Setsuna in AS are born as the reincarnations of a vengeful angel. As both try to come to terms with this startling revelation the world around them falls apart. Both animes also spend time focusing on the love between the protagonists as well, with that relationship being the driving plot from which many sub plots and intrigacy is woven.
LadyRunic says...Both have a angelic background with a twisting love story and the wrongs (or rights) humans do unto the agnels.
Vampire Knight
- TV(13 eps)
- 2008
Cross Academy is a school with a difference: in a unique and experimental setup designed by the headmaster, it has a Day Class consisting of ordinary humans and a Night Class filled with vampires. Yuki Cross and her friend Zero Kiryu are school prefects whose job it is to make sure the secret of the Night Class is always safe; they patrol the school grounds at night and supervise the switchover of classes at dawn and dusk to prevent any 'accidents' from happening. While Zero is suspicious of vampires and hates the idea of sharing the same space as them, Yuki admires the Night Class for their beauty and sophistication; she is especially intrigued by their charming leader, Kaname, because he once saved her life. However, as Yuki quickly learns, not all vampires are amiable like the Night Class, and as terrible events unfold, Yuki must ask herself whether in a world where vampires are the hunters and humans are the prey, peaceful coexistence can really be achieved.
Reasons you might like Vampire Knight...
VivisQueen says...Ayashi no Ceres is a tragic and dark shoujo, albeit with lots of cheese thrown in. And the exact same thing can be said of Vampire Knight. However, Vampire Knight has a better executed story, and far more intense and engaging romance than Ayashi no Ceres. If you're looking to get gushy over bishounen and want some more interesting twists on well-known legends, then definitely try Vampire Knight.
norco says...If you liked the love triangle between two guys and one girl in Ayashi no Ceres, you would probably also like Vampire knight. Vampire Knight is also a dark and dramatic romance. So if your looking for a non-comedic love triangle then you should definitely check it out.
joykimlee says...Both are intense drama shoujo with 2 bishies loving and protecting 1 strong but lost girl. Both girls love their brother and best friend. Both anime bishies fight well and slaughter many to shield the girl from viscious killers. VK girl a vampire within vs ANC girl an angel within. VK story addicting and thrilling vs ANC story engaging and moving. Must watch for bishies in shoujo fans!
Galadriel says...when i think about Ayashi no Ceres and Vampire Knight i can only think about two things, suspense and horror aspects. Both of them have though-provoking, interesting, intriguing plot lines that will make you grab the screen until it ends, imploring for more. Both shows feature interesting characters so if you liked one be sure to check the other one as well.
wolfangel87 says...Vampire Knight and Ayashi no Ceres both involve intense love triangles with both males intensely caring about the heroine. Aya and Yuki are both strong willed leaders that have a mission ahead of them that they have to complete. The stories are enthralling and fairytale like.
Witchblade
- TV(24 eps)
- 2006

Returning to Tokyo for the first time since the disaster, the slightly clumsy but cheerful Masune just wants make a new life and to raise her daughter without interference from the Child Welfare Agency. Giving in to the Witchblade seems dangerous, but when the powerful Dohji Corporation agrees to guarantee her a life together with her daughter if she works for them, can Masune pass up the chance?
Reasons you might like Witchblade...
Kuratsu says...Both Witchblade and AnC are about a woman/girl that is trying to fight her destiny for a better future. Both of them became 'supernatural beings' at a point in their lives when they encountered the 'thing' that changed their lives for the worse.
wolfangel87 says...Ayashi no Ceres and Witchblade, are both about a girl/woman fighting for her own destiny and the people she cares about. Both are supernatural beings and the transformation has a more mature attitude and seems to be more capable all around while untransformed there is an innocent girl in place that relies on others for help.
chii says...Both main characters have two different personalities. One side is weaker and confused while the other side is strong and will do anything to accomplish the goal. Both personalities are fighting for a better future for themselves and the ones they care about. If you liked one check out the other.
Galadriel says...Ayashi no Ceres and Witchblade feature a main protagonist having 2 personalities, a strong and violent one and a weak and vulnerable one. In both shows the main protagonist is fighting for her destiny and for the people she cares. If you like one be sure to check the other as well.
Sailor Moon
- TV(46 eps)
- 1992 - 1993
Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...
Reasons you might like Sailor Moon...
NekoRocket says...When you look at the serious moments of plot development, Sailormoon and Ayashi no Ceres have quite a bit in common. While the focal point of the plot is the romance of the main characters and their inescapable destinies, the supporting characters offer as much emotional turbulence and you really empathize with them.
wolfangel87 says...Both Sailor Moon and Ayashi no Ceres have an air of fantasy and mystery about them. They also both deal with love relationships and are set in a high school environment. Both series deal with magic and transformations and the heroine having to take it upon herself to do what is best for her friends and family.
RoyalStarPrincess says...There is a lot of love and loss and missing memories. I recommend both, very good, and sad. There is some similarity between them.
Ayashi No Ceres Episode 1
Key the Metal Idol
- OVA(15 eps)
- 1994 - 1997
Murao Mima has created a robot daughter named Key, but after raising her for a very short time, Mima dies, leaving behind cryptic messages telling Key how she can become human. Key must struggle alone to learn the harsh lessons of life and search for the 'key' to her own dream: the power of 30,000 friends to make her a real human girl.
Reasons you might like Key the Metal Idol...
sothis says...Although Key is seemingly about a very different topic, they both hold a sinister background plot that becomes revealed far into the series. Unfortunately, I can't explain what that is, else the series will be spoiled for you.. but in general, Key has a very dark, almost gruesome feel to it, just like the darker parts of Ayashi no Ceres. Key also has less romance/sappy scenes, which is a big plus in my book.
VRDave says...The only thing that makes these series both really unique and really good is that they both have really weird messed up stuff that happens. A female main character with strange powers, etc. Also there is a scene in both towards the end that is fairly similar in them. Key I liked a lot better, they were both dark series, but Key seemed darker and more depressing.
Shattered Angels
- TV(12 eps)
- 2007
Average, boring, and nothing special; this is how Shiratori Kuu feels about herself and her life as a high school student in Academia. On what begins as any other day, Kuu's life is spun upside down when a new student transfers to her class. As soon as she sees his face, she is astonished, for this is no ordinary boy – he looks just like the prince she has dreamt of for so long! He extends a hand to her and repeats the words she has somehow heard before, 'Lets go... Together.' But it is never that easy, is it? A world that seemed so dull is now torn apart by a whirlwind of love and hate, and the conflict that plagues all those involved.
Reasons you might like Shattered Angels...
yukichii says...If you liked Ayashi, you would like Kyoshiro too because they are both supernatural and romantic. They may seem different from the outside but they will give you a similar feeling. In these anime, the deep and complicated stories will make you watch them quickly. If you are looking for a supernatural yet romantic anime like Ayashi then Kyoshiro is for you.
Galadriel says...What defines Shattered Angels and Ayashi no Ceres is both its supernatural aspect, featuring angels and especially its deep romantic element, that dominates both shows. Both of them feature complicated story which depicts the same theme, the reincarnation theme. So if you liked one, you will enjoy the other one as well.
Peach Girl
- TV(25 eps)
- 2005
Momo is loud, shallow, a player, a betrayer, and one to best stay away from -- or at least, that's the misconception people have when they see her makeup, bleached hair and suntanned skin. In reality, Momo just wants the same friends, hobbies and crushes any girl her age would like. However, when her only friend starts spreading rumours about her, her boyfriend starts to doubt her, and the most popular boy in school starts to take a more then friendly interest in her, she'll have much more to worry about than just her appearance!
Reasons you might like Peach Girl...
wolfangel87 says...Both series deal with a major love triangle and I had a hard time choosing my favorite guy until the end; each has redeeming qualities about him that makes it hard to choose which one you would really pick. It is interesting to see how much your opinion changes throughout the show when you watch it! Both series also deal with high school relationships.
Download Anime Ayashi No Ceres Sub Indo Mp4
Nanamy says...Both shoujo series deal with a love triangle and it's the same feeling in both animes sometimes it seems like she's gonna pick this guy but sometimes you think she's gonna end up with the other guy and there are so many kiss scenes with diferent guy more than once, that makes it hard to know which one she would really pick at the end.
Romeo x Juliet
- TV(24 eps)
- 2007

Finally, on one fateful day, Juliet's family reveals her heritage and their desire for her to reclaim her title and rescue Neo Verona from tyranny. Meanwhile, Juliet also discovers that Romeo is the son of her worst enemy. Can Juliet rescue Neo Verona and kill the father of the man she loves?
Reasons you might like Romeo x Juliet...
wolfangel87 says...Both Ayashi no Ceres and Romeo X Juliet deal with the main character having a hard time coping with what she has to deal with. Even though Ayashi no Ceres is more fantasy-based while Romeo X Juliet is based off of Shakespeare, the two stories both have the same kind of star-crossed love in them.
Valore says...Ayashi No Ceres Episode 1 Sub Indo
if you love a good tragic romance story then you're going to love both Romeo X Juliet and Ayashi no Ceres. both stories revolve around a girl who due to reasons beyond her knowledge is thrown into a world of chaos by people out to see her dead. It follows her as she overcomes obstacles one after the other and meets with a man who changes her life. The story also follows the romance between the two main characters very closely as well as the problems that arise to tear them apart. They are both what i believe to be wonderful stories of star crossed lovers that really tugs at the heart strings.
